Anti-erosion geomats

Anti-erosion geomats – 3D geosynthetics used in ground-level construction works for protecting soil against erosion. It hinders successfully surface erosion due to rain, wind and surface water, especially on the land with large inclination. They create favourable conditions for plants to take root and grow. They are a base for hydroseeding. The anti-erosion mats prevent bluffs from subsiding. They are used only to protect the surface layer of the soil against erosion through water or wind. The geomats secure the surface until plants grow and cover it. However, thanks to the use of polymers, it stays in the bluff as a permanent, artificial root structure.

The geomats are manufactured in the process of monofilament extrusion, i.e. by spraying single threads on an appropriate form that gives the product its final shape. The mats are usually made of PP, which facilitates the production process. Other materials used are PA, PE or PES.
